Pará - A Travel Zine
From a one-week trip in August 2025 to the state of Pará, Brazil, including a visit to Marajó Island and a stay in Belém, the zine Pará emerged as a personal project. Inspired by the beauty, delights, traditions, cultural expressions, and memories I cultivated, the zine recounts a bit of my time in the state through photographic records, graphic compositions, illustrations, and lettering. The colors are inspired by the state flag, the lettering references the tradition of letter openers, and the drawn elements are typical foods and drinks, regional fish, and traditional houses as seen through my eyes. In the end, it's a visual narrative about a lived experience.
